Ashanti pretty much declared her relationship during a very flirtatious performance with her rapper boyfriend Nelly. The R&B songstress supported her fella this past weekend whilst he hosted his 5th Annual Black and White ball in St. Louis. The charity bash benefits children in the local area who are in need of financial assistance and scholarships. Ashanti performed ‘If I Was Your Girlfriend’ from her last album ‘The Declaration’ and she was singing it to her man. Aw! Their stage chemistry looked like fun! Watch the performance below.

Although Ashanti and Nelly keep dodging relationship rumors, the pair looked cozy at his New Year's Eve bash at ARIA Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Nelly hung out at a VIP table with an entourage of 25 friends as Ashanti sipped champagne all night. Onlookers tell PopEater that Nelly was spotted showering her with kisses throughout the evening.

During the festivities, Nelly treated the crowd to a live performance featuring up-and-coming artist Avery Storm and sang hits like 'Dilemma,' 'Here I Am' and 'Supermodel.'

Yes I said HER MAN. I seriously do not know who Nelly and Ashanti are fooling but for the past seven years, despite countless spottings of the pair being loved up (holding hands, hugging, etc), the two have been DENYING each other publicly non stop.

In between those seven years, I do believe they’ve encountered several break-ups which is probably why they don’t claim each other. It just seems easier for them when doing PR and interviews because if they split, at least they can say they never publicly confirmed their relationship. End of.

R&B songstress Ashanti has returned to her old stomping grounds. After winning her first talent show at the Boys & Girls Club when she was 12, the singer has come full circle by returning to participate in Ugg's Art & Sole program.

Ashanti, along with fellow alum Mario Lopez (above at a Boys & Girls Club event in August) and 25 children in the club's fine arts program, decorated sheepskin boots with colorful paints, crystals and glitter.

"I like sparkly things," she said of her look (at right).

Turns out the glitz was a tribute to designer and pal Giuseppe Zanotti, who collaborated with Ugg for last year's program. "I am inspired by Giuseppe and the stones he uses," she said, adding that he gave her an exclusive pair of open-toe booties when she paid a visit to his New York showroom over the summer. "I love his shoes."

In the video for his 2000 song, “Put It On Me,” rapper Ja Rule pledges his loyalty to his girlfriend, albeit from the confines of a jail cell.

Life may soon imitate art as the Queens bred M.C. pleaded guilty to attempted criminal possession of a weapon, Monday in a New York courtroom.

According to the Associated Press, the rapper, born Jeffrey Atkins, faced as many as 15 years in prison but will serve only two years as part of his plea agreement. The charges stem from an arrest on July 22, 2007 following a performance at the Beacon Theater.

Police said they found a loaded .40-caliber semiautomatic gun in a rear door of Ja Rule’s $250,000 Maybach after it was stopped for speeding.

"This isn't a good day," Ja Rule said as he exited the courthouse.

Ja Rule was one of the most successful hip-hop artists of the 2000s, scoring Billboard Top 20 hits like “Between Me and You,” “Always On Time,” and “Mesmerize,” with each of his first four albums reaching platinum status.

Though he began his career as a hardcore rapper, Ja Rule became known for his R&B styled duets with female singers such as Ashanti and Jennifer Lopez.

His music may have softened, but Ja Rule did not stray far from controversy. He became involved in a very public feud with rival 50 Cent, who mocked Ja Rule’s street credibility in the 2002 song, “Wanksta.”

Ja Rule has had previous contacts with the law. He pleaded guilty to assault for punching a man at a Toronto nightclub in 2004, for which he was fined $1,200.

He becomes the latest addition to a list of rappers who have gotten into trouble over guns. T.I. returned to prison in November after a drug arrest violated the terms of his parole. T.I. served a year of house detention before he spent nine months in jail and three months in a halfway house for 2007 weapons charges.

Lil Wayne, who was arrested separately on the same 2007 night as Ja Rule, was released from Rikers Island in early November after serving nine months on a gun possession charge.

While fireworks were going off on the Las Vegas Strip, Nelly and Ashanti were busy making their own sparks fly.

After her gig at the Rio off the Strip, Ashanti joined her beau Nelly at Haze nightclub in Vegas where he performed.

The couple wasn’t shy with PDA, but don’t necessarily expect wedding bells anytime soon.

“I think you really have to be friends first. It’s not about how long it takes,” Nelly told Rap-Up TV. “I’m not a person that wants to get married more than once. If I’ma do it, I’ma do it. You’re dying if you leave me.”

Rapper Nelly has confirmed his romance with Ashanti has ended, insisting he was too busy to concentrate on the starry relationship.

The pair split last year but sparked reconciliation speculation after they were spotted together over the summer. Rumors intensified when the singer joined Nelly at private listening session for his new album 5.0. in October (10).

But the "Hot In Herre" star insists he's now just close pals with Ashanti.

Nelly tells Rap-Up.com, "I'm married to my work. ... I'm not a person that wants to get married more than once. You see what I'm saying? If I'ma do it, I'ma do it and that's it (sic). You're dying if you leave me.

"I'm married to getting things in a certain situation right now and she's married to getting things in a certain situation. So again, man, we enjoy each other's company and love it."
