R&B singer and Long Island native Ashanti
became new tourism ambassador.
Ashanti, whose birth name is Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas was introduced on Tuesday at a news conference as one of nine ambassadors who will promote tourism in Nassau County on Long Island. Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi went to Manhattan on a tourist raid, picking up 16 visitors to the Big Apple and giving them an all-expense-paid tour of Nassau. He introduced the visitors at a news conference at Top of the Rock in Rockefeller Center, where he also presented nine ambassadors. |
